Rules and Regulations are strictly enforced.
All Comics must be registered, FULL TIME
students between the ages of 18-24 at a participating New Jersey College to enter the competition.
Each comic is allowed 5 minutes per performance. After
5 minutes the comic will be asked to leave the stage. A silent signal will be given to the
comic at the 4 minute mark. (* These time limits may be subject to change depending on the amount of comics that register)
Each comic will be critiqued at the end of his/her performance by the judges on Originality, Stage Presence, Material
and Audience Reaction. 3 finalists from each Qualifying Event will move on to compete in the state finals at Monmouth University
on November 15, 2008 where the celebrity judges will crown the "NJ King of Campus Comedy" and choose the 2nd,
and 3rd place Finalists.
All students must abide by their own school's code of conduct, as your
school may have additional regulations other than what is listed. These rules pertain to the New Jersey Comedy Festival Only.
Any lateness
to the event venue by the comic will result in disqualification. (*If lateness or absence is foreseen by comic prior to show
time, please contact your school administration to alert).
Employees of Sponsors and their families are not eligible
to enter or win.
